An additional 3 EV
The filter transmits only one eighth of the light, without the need to change the base VND filter.
VFFOTO ND 8× NANO-PRO US
The VFFOTO magnetic ND 8× filter is designed primarily to extend the range of compatible VFFOTO VND filters. It adds a further 3 EV, extending the nominal range from VND 2–32× to ND 16–256×. With a magnetic adapter of the same diameter, it can also be used as a standalone ND 8× filter.
Check compatibility first
Choose the extension filter according to the diameter of the VND filter’s front magnetic section, not according to the lens thread or the VND filter’s rear thread.
Not sure? Send us the model designation of your VND filter or a photograph of its front section. Our technical support team will check compatibility.
Who is the filter for?
Whether you shoot video, landscapes or portraits, the ND 8× opens up new creative possibilities.
At the same ISO and aperture, the ND 8× extends the exposure time eightfold. This is an illustrative example; the exact settings depend on the lighting conditions.

Use a wide aperture even in harsh sunlight to separate your subject from the background.

Use long exposures to capture the movement of water and clouds, as well as the dynamics of the entire scene.

Work with a wide aperture even in bright light.

Extend the range of your existing VND filter by a further 3 EV without having to buy a new one.
Extending the effect
When the two filters are combined, their nominal filter factors are multiplied: the ND 8× together with the VND 2–32× creates a nominal range of ND 16–256×.
Adjust the level of darkening to suit the current lighting conditions.
Quick magnetic attachment to the front of the VND filter.
For shooting video with a wide aperture and taking photographs with longer exposure times.
Note: The stated ND 16–256× range is based on the filters’ nominal ratings. The usable level of darkening depends on the focal length, VND setting and photographed scene.
Image test
Choose a comparison type and drag the slider to examine detail rendering, colour rendition and a real-world photograph.

The slider allows a direct comparison of detail rendering without a filter and with the VND 32× + ND 8× combination.
Ultra-thin construction
Optical glass only 0.7 mm thick and a low-profile 2 mm frame minimise the overall height of the assembly and reduce the risk of mechanical vignetting.
VFFOTO spectral measurement
The graph shows the measured transmission from 380 to 780 nm. Colour neutrality is indicated primarily by the consistency of the curve across the visible spectrum. Its deviation from 12.5 % also shows the filter’s actual density.

Package contents
For standalone use: A VFFOTO 86 mm magnetic adapter is required and is not included.
How the calibration box worksRecommended accessory
A VFFOTO hybrid VND filter with the ND 8× extension filter attached is not compatible with the original lens cap. To cover the filter assembly safely, use a compatible VFFOTO 86 mm magnetic protective cap with grip.

Safe use
VND and ND 8× photographic filters are neither designed nor certified for safely observing or photographing the Sun and do not provide the necessary suppression of UV and IR radiation. A VND filter is not suitable for photographing a solar eclipse.
