The VFFOTO 2–32× NANO-PRO TC hybrid variable ND filter provides smooth control over the amount of light for video and photography. True Colour technology minimises colour shift, while the hybrid design allows both screw-in and magnetic mounting.

The rotating section of the frame, with two control levers, allows fast and precise adjustment of the light reduction. Mechanical stops define the minimum and maximum positions and prevent rotation beyond the working range.

Focal length limits

Focal length also matters with a variable ND filter.

At very short focal lengths, polarisation can cause uneven light reduction. This is a physical characteristic of variable ND filters, not a defect of an individual filter.

From 16 mm FF – screw-in modeThe filter can be used with consideration for the specific lens and optical system. At the shortest focal lengths, it may be necessary to limit the maximum light reduction.

Colour neutrality

Colour reproduction from minimum to maximum.

VFFOTO hybrid system

Screw-in and magnetic filter in one.

The filter can be screwed into the lens thread or attached magnetically to a VFFOTO adapter.

The enlarged 95 mm front magnetic section reduces mechanical vignetting and allows special expansion ND filters for the hybrid VND system to be attached quickly.

In magnetic mode, the hybrid VND also functions fully as a CPL filter. Rotate the entire filter to set the polarising effect and use the control ring to adjust the light reduction smoothly.

Special VFFOTO expansion ND filters can be attached to the front magnetic section of the hybrid VND in an instant. They are made specifically for the hybrid VND system and extend its capabilities without replacing the base filter.

Important: the stated combined ranges are based on the nominal filter ratings. The actual usable light reduction depends on the focal length and the photographed scene. The VND filter is not suitable for photographing a solar eclipse. Neither the VND filter nor the expansion ND filters are solar filters or intended for direct observation of the Sun or for eye protection.

Practical detail test

Fine details even at high light reduction.

Compatibility

The original lens hood cannot be used with the VND filter attached.

The hybrid VND filter has an 82 mm rear thread and an intentionally enlarged 95 mm front section. The lens’s original hood therefore cannot be fitted over the attached filter.

Why is the front section larger?

The 95 mm diameter helps reduce mechanical vignetting.

The enlarged front section also provides a magnetic mount for special VFFOTO expansion ND filters made for the hybrid VND system. As a consequence of this design, the lens’s original hood cannot be used while the filter is attached.

Recommended accessories

A 95 mm cap is compatible with this 82 mm VND filter.

The filter’s front section has a diameter of 95 mm to reduce vignetting. A standard 82 mm lens cap is therefore not compatible. To protect the filter safely, we recommend the VFFOTO 95 mm magnetic protective cap with grip.

Vrstvy, které spolupracují

Antireflexní vrstvy jsou nanášeny na optické sklo ve vakuových komorách pomocí magnetronového naprašování. Tento proces umožňuje přesně řídit složení, tloušťku a rovnoměrnost jednotlivých vrstev.

Jejich kombinace je navržena tak, aby díky optické interferenci snižovala odrazivost povrchů v různých částech viditelného spektra. Rozhodující je přesnost celého systému, nikoli pouze počet vrstev.

Protisvětlo a noční scény

Čistší obraz v náročném světle

Slunce v blízkosti záběru, pouliční osvětlení nebo jiné výrazné světelné zdroje mohou vyvolávat odlesky a světelný závoj. GlareShield Pro 16 omezuje příspěvek povrchů filtru k těmto nežádoucím jevům.

Výsledkem je menší riziko rušivých reflexů a ztráty kontrastu. Technologie tak pomáhá zachovat přirozenou kresbu a čitelnost jemných detailů při fotografování krajiny, architektury i natáčení videa.

Odlesky v praxi: Antireflexní vrstvy omezují odrazy na površích filtru. Jejich výsledný výskyt závisí také na objektivu, poloze světelného zdroje, čistotě skla a případném použití více filtrů současně.

Polarizační filtry

Polarizace bez rušivého nádechu

U polarizačních filtrů TrueColour využívá prémiové polarizační fólie a pečlivě vybrané optické materiály. Cílem je minimalizovat nežádoucí teplé nebo studené tónování celého obrazu a zachovat přirozené barevné vztahy ve scéně.

Omezení odlesků přitom může záměrně zvýraznit barvy zeleně, oblohy nebo povrchů. Tento přirozený účinek polarizace je odlišný od nežádoucího barevného nádechu způsobeného samotným filtrem.

ND filtry a video

Méně světla. Věrné barvy.

U ND filtrů pomáhají přesně laděné optické vrstvy omezit rozdíly v útlumu jednotlivých částí viditelného spektra. Důraz na vyváženou spektrální charakteristiku snižuje nežádoucí barevný posun i při výrazném prodloužení expozičního času.

Neutrální výchozí obraz usnadňuje následné barevné korekce fotografií i color grading videa. Místo napravování výrazného nádechu filtru se můžete soustředit na požadovanou atmosféru a výsledný vzhled záběru.

Barvy v praxi: Výsledné barevné podání ovlivňuje také osvětlení, vyvážení bílé a nastavení fotoaparátu. Pro přímé porovnání záběrů s filtrem a bez něj použijte stejné ruční vyvážení bílé a shodné zpracování obrazu.
