Approximately 10 stops
Nominal light transmission is 0.1%, adding approximately 10 stops of light reduction to your existing VND.
VFFOTO 95 mm ND 1000× NANO-PRO US filter for VND filters
VFFOTO ND 1000× NANO-PRO US
Add approximately 10 stops of light reduction to your compatible VFFOTO VND filter and capture long exposures of water and clouds, even in daylight. Simply attach the ND 1000× magnetically, then fine-tune the exposure by rotating your VND. There is no need to swap fixed ND filters. Paired with a VND 2–32×, it provides a nominal ND 2,000–32,000× range, equivalent to approximately 11–15 stops.
An unfiltered exposure of 1/125 s becomes approximately 16 seconds to 4 minutes 16 seconds with VND 2–32× + ND 1000×, at the same aperture, ISO and lighting. These times are based on the filters’ nominal ratings. Rotate the VND to fine-tune your exposure.
Check compatibility first
Choose the add-on filter by the diameter of the VND’s front magnetic interface, not by the lens thread or the VND’s rear thread.
Wide-angle lenses: The add-on ND filter does not eliminate uneven darkening caused by the base VND’s polarisation. At short focal lengths, you may need to limit the VND setting; follow the recommendations for your specific VND and lens. Mechanical vignetting also depends on the complete setup.
Not sure? Send us your VND model name or a photograph of the front of the filter. Our technical support team will check compatibility.
Image comparison
The Červená Lhota photographs illustrate the effect of a long exposure. The colour chart shows the VND 32× + ND 1000× combination at approximately 15 stops. Select Details to compare close-up crops of a battery photographed at 70 mm.

Who is this filter for?
ND 1000× allows substantially longer exposures for creative images of moving water, clouds, people or traffic.

Capture moving people and traffic against the fixed lines of architecture.

Use a long exposure to soften ripples and let buildings or landscapes stand out.

Turn moving clouds into long streaks and emphasise the atmosphere of the sky.

Turn your compatible VND into a versatile setup for long exposures.
Extended filtration range
Keep the smooth adjustment of your existing VND while adding approximately 10 stops of light reduction across its working range.
Adjust light reduction to suit the current lighting conditions.
Quick magnetic attachment to the front of the VND filter.
For long and very long exposures in landscape and creative photography.
ND 512× or ND 1000×? At the same VND setting, ND 1000× provides almost twice the exposure time of ND 512×, equivalent to approximately one extra stop of light reduction. Choose ND 512× when you need less light reduction, or ND 1000× for longer exposure times.
Note: The stated ND 2,000–32,000× range is based on the filters’ nominal ratings. The usable light reduction depends on focal length, VND setting and the scene being photographed.
VFFOTO in-house measurements
This add-on ND filter was developed specifically for compatible VFFOTO variable ND filters. Its transmission is deliberately tailored to help reduce colour shifts in the combined VND + ND setup.
Increased transmission around 474 nm and in the 730–780 nm region is an intentional part of the optical design. These bands are calculated to help compensate for colour shifts caused by the relative rotation of the VND filter’s polarising films, even when colour-neutral films are used.
This is deliberate spectral compensation, not a manufacturing defect. The response of the ND filter alone should therefore be assessed in the context of the setup it was designed for.
The optical design aims to reduce colour shifts across the VND range of 2–32×. This graph describes the add-on ND filter alone; the colour chart comparison above shows the complete setup at VND 32× + ND 1000×.
The filter can also be used on its own with a suitable adapter, but its spectral compensation is optimised for use with a VND.
The combination of VND 2–32× and ND 1000× provides a nominal range of approximately ND 2,000–32,000×, equivalent to 11–15 stops. This corresponds to a nominal transmission of just 0.05 to 0.0031% of light. This level of light reduction enables very long exposures. Targeted spectral compensation helps limit colour shifts even at this level of light reduction. The stated range is based on the nominal filter factors, not on a measurement of the complete setup in this graph.
Free VFFOTO calculator
Meter the exposure without a filter, select your ND filter factor and the calculator immediately displays the new exposure time. Use it when planning a shoot or out in the field.
An ND 1000× filter multiplies the exposure time by 1,000, equivalent to approximately 10 stops.

Ultra-thin construction
The optical glass is 0.7 mm thick. Thanks to its ultra-thin frame, attaching the filter adds only 2 mm to the stack, helping to limit the risk of mechanical vignetting.
