The VFFOTO hybrid WHITE MIST NANO-PRO 1/2 creates a pronounced diffusion effect with a soft milky haze. Compared with the 1/4 version, it diffuses bright highlights more strongly, reduces overall contrast and lifts darker tones. It is ideal for creative portraits, video and dreamlike scene styling.

Difference between filter types

White Mist or Black Mist?

Both filters soften highlights, but their final character is different. Compare White Mist and Black Mist at the same strength: 1/8, 1/4 or 1/2.

BLACK MIST 1/2 WHITE MIST 1/2

At 1/2 strength, the difference is pronounced: Black Mist creates a strong halo and retains darker areas more effectively, while White Mist creates a more prominent milky haze.

Choosing the strength

White Mist 1/2 is the strong version.

Compared with the 1/4 version, the 1/2 strength produces a more pronounced milky haze, stronger diffusion of bright highlights and a more noticeable reduction in overall contrast. It is ideal for creative portraits, filmmaking and atmospheric night scenes.

Gently softens highlights, creates only a light whitish haze and minimally reduces microcontrast.

Medium version 1/4
Balanced effect

White Mist creates an intentional image effect.

The filter changes the character of the image at the time of shooting. The strength of the effect depends on the filter strength, scene contrast and the presence of prominent light sources. Stronger versions, especially 1/2, can look very pronounced in backlight or at night.

VFFOTO hybrid system

A screw-in and magnetic filter in one.

Screw the filter directly into the lens thread or attach it magnetically to an adapter or another compatible VFFOTO filter.

The front magnetic surface allows another VFFOTO hybrid or magnetic filter of the same diameter to be attached. White Mist can be combined with CPL, ND or variable ND filters, for example. When stacking multiple filters, check wide-angle lenses for vignetting.

Compatibility

Hybrid White Mist filters and lens hoods

With a hybrid White Mist filter, checking the thread diameter alone is not enough. The space inside the lens hood also matters because some hoods fit very tightly.

With the hybrid system, the safest approach is always to check the specific combination of lens, filter and lens hood in practice.

Technologie VFFOTO NanoShield představuje pokročilou high-tech úpravu foto filtrů pomocí ultra tenkých nano vrstev, které výrazně omezují ulpívání vody, mastnoty i běžných nečistot. Díky speciální hydrofobní a oleofobní ochraně zůstává povrch filtru déle čistý, kapky vody snadno stékají, prach se méně zachytává a otisky prstů lze odstranit jediným setřením.

Technologie VFFOTO GlareShield Pro 16 představuje pokročilý systém 16 špičkových antireflexních vrstev — 8 z každé strany filtru — navržený pro maximální eliminaci nežádoucích odlesků a ztráty kontrastu při fotografování. Každá antireflexní vrstva je aplikována na optické sklo ve vakuových komorách pomocí vysoce přesné depoziční technologie magnetronového naprašování. Díky této metodě vznikají dokonale rovnoměrné nano vrstvy o tloušťce pouhých několika nanometrů, optimalizované pro potlačení odrazů v různých částech viditelného spektra.
