ReviewsVFFOTO 49 mm hybrid adapter
Want to attach filters quickly without repeated screwing? The VFFOTO hybrid adapter screws into the lens thread and creates a secure magnetic base for VFFOTO magnetic and hybrid filters.
The adapter contains no optical glass. It does not affect the image; it only holds the filter precisely in place and significantly speeds up attaching, removing and changing filters in the field.
What the adapter is for
The adapter turns the lens into a magnetic base. You no longer need to screw the filter into the thread every time — simply place it against the adapter, the magnetic system seats it, and you can continue shooting. It is most useful when you change filters often.
Magnetic or hybrid adapter?
Both adapters screw into the lens and both are used for magnetic attachment of VFFOTO filters. The main difference is in their construction and in which setup each adapter is better suited for.
| Feature | VFFOTO magnetic adapter | VFFOTO hybrid adapter |
|---|---|---|
| Best suited for | For photographers who already use VFFOTO magnetic filters. | For photographers who want to use the new VFFOTO hybrid filters. |
| Construction | Aluminium adapter with a steel press ring. | Aluminium adapter with a press ring and integrated ferrite magnets. |
| How the filter is held | The filter attaches via the magnets in the filter to the adapter’s steel press ring. | Magnetic attachment is also supported by ferrite magnets integrated in the adapter. |
| Appearance | Black finish of the magnetic system. | Matte bronze finish of the hybrid system. |
| When to choose it | When you want to stay with the existing VFFOTO magnetic system. | When you are buying VFFOTO hybrid filters or want to expand your setup in a new direction. |
Simply put: we recommend the hybrid adapter for new VFFOTO hybrid filters. The magnetic adapter mainly makes sense if you already have VFFOTO magnetic equipment and do not want to change it.
Magnetic cap
If you leave the adapter on the lens, you can cover it with a VFFOTO magnetic cap. The lens remains protected and for the next shoot you simply remove the cap and attach the filter directly.
Recommended accessory: VFFOTO 49 mm magnetic protective cap with grip .
